Your Special Stay

Booking your stay in the Hayloft or Bothy

It’s easy to use our Online Booking System – just go through to our booking page where you can choose either accommodation from the drop-down menu. Your stay can start on Fridays or Mondays and you can stay for just 3 nights or for many days! At Christmas we also ask for stays of no less than 7 nights.   And now you can bring your dog on holiday with you too – see booking page for more detail.

What makes your stay Special

The accommodation is really special, but so are all the little extras! Please read all about it in your Welcome Book – an album of information I have put together full of all kinds of information about your stay here – from guiding you around your accommodation to recommending local places to eat and leading you around the County in search of the interesting and the unusual.

What’s included in the Price

Everything is provided for your stay and included in the price – linen, towels, bathrobes, useful items like paper towel, toilet paper, dish washing liquid and plenty of logs for the wood-burning stove. You’ll be delighted with your hamper of goodies, your  toiletries and other little luxuries. The prices you’ll see on our booking system are based on two people making use of the double bedroom.  If you also use the box beds as well, we do now charge a small ‘linen fee’ to cover the cost – please see online booking system for more detail.

Your Hamper and other things

You’ll find a hamper full of locally-sourced goodies including a loaf of bread, jam, chocolates and Lincolnshire plum bread or my own fruit loaf.  There are also local organic eggs in the fridge for you, along with milk and butter. There’s coffee, tea and sugar as well  – we want to make your stay a special as possible! In the summer you will be treated to some freshly harvested vegetables from our garden or some fruit from our trees in the autumn. The luxury toiletries in the bathroom are made from natural ingredients, and other toiletries like the shampoo and bubble bath are organic and made by Faith-in-Nature. Cleaning products vary but are always purchased from environmentally-aware companies.

First Night Meals – Temporarily suspended

We call them first night meals but you can order them to be delivered right to your accommodation on any night of your stay!  You need to pre-order the meals, preferably mentioning you’d like this when you book, but as long as we have at least several days’ notice, that is fine. We have changed the menu a bit and are now offering a bubbling stew of beef, potatoes and vegetables cooked up in a Lincolnshire ale, followed by spiced apple oat crumble with cream. What more could you wish for?  Ah yes, there’s a bottle of wine in your hamper too! All this for just £30 per couple for the two courses.

Love Food Select Lincolnshire

We were members of the Select Lincolnshire (formerly Tastes of Lincolnshire). Select Lincolnshire is all about the promotion of local food and drink in Lincolnshire and the logo at restaurants and tearooms means that local produce has been used.  A list of all the places you can go to sample good Lincolnshire fayre is given in the super magazine ‘Good Tastes’, copies of which are provided free in your accommodation – please help yourself.  We were the proud Winners in 2010 (Self catering category) and ‘Highly Commended’ in 2009, 2011, 2013, and 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. We were also runners-up for our Courses (Teaching Establishment category) in 2013 and 2014 and winners in 2015, 2016 and 2017, reflecting our dedication to all things local. We use local produce (including our own) in the accommodation and on courses as well as for hampers.  For recommendations of where to eat please see our Welcome Book.

Cookery and Craft Courses – Temporarily suspended

We offer a range of cookery courses and a few craft courses too which you we welcome you to join during your stay here.  New is the offer of half day courses – ‘cookery or craft courses just for two’ which I can arrange especially for you during your stay!  The choices are learning to bake bread (Beginner’s Bread making, Healthy Options, Boozy Breads), Hand made Chocolates or Jam & Preserves.  Other seasonal courses include ‘from plot to plate’ days which are all about collecting produce from the garden and creating seasonal specialities.  Or you can request a knitting or crochet course, or spend half a day making natural bath & beauty products. The cost for two of you on these special one-day half day courses is just £150.  Contact us for more detail. You  need to book your course at the same time as booking the accommodation. Have a look at my recipe (and photos) of Apple Herb Jelly in the Good Taste magazine – you can make this too on our Jam & Preserves courses.

Our Garden

We grow as many of the vegetables as possible.  When we can’t grow all the vegetables we need, we purchase them from local shops, farm shops and farmers’ markets.  Information about these, and the dates when markets are held, are all provided in your Welcome Book.  Lincolnshire is well known for its great supply of fresh produce and is definitely a place to come if you love food! See what the Guardian has to say about Lincolnshire as a place for foodies!

The Hayloft and Bothy can be booked together for yourself and your family and is ideal for 2 family groups (4 in the Hayloft, 3 in the Bothy) or a large group of 7. The two accommodations are separate from each other but can be connected by opening the doors to an internal staircase. We are pleased to offer a 5% discount if both the Hayloft and Bothy are booked together.

Christmas at the Manor House Stables

From the first weekend in December the Bothy and Hayloft are decorated for Christmas.  Trees decorated with festive lights and smelling beautifully of oranges, apples and cinnamon adorn both accommodations.  Light the wood-burning stove, pour yourself a glass of mulled wine and enjoy the spirit of Christmas!

What people say about us

  • This is the most wonderful place we have ever stayed in.  You have gone to so much effort to make the Hayloft a warm cosy retreat.  Everything has been through of....  Like straight out of a magazine...

    Ansgar & Selena, Hayloft
  • Loved it here!  I think this may be our favourite part of the UK - seems to offer everything!  And the Hayloft is wonderful - also seems to offer everything! Thanks, Sherry, for making this a wonderful ending to our trip - I don't think anyone can "top" your hospitality. This visit to Lincolnshire has truly been an unexpected joy.

    Peta & Wally (Canada), Hayloft
  • If all self-catering holidays were like this, we'd never do anything else!  The luxury and thoughtfulness helped us make the most of a short break.  We've also converted to the delights of Lincolnshire

    Carol & Alan, Bothy
  • An unexpected find and what an absolute pleasure to stay here!  Sherry has thought of everything from welcome hampers, to soaps to detailed information about places to visit!

    John & Tracy, Hayloft
  • We loved the Bothy and all the delicious treats that were left by Sherry.  Really good to see natural products being used throughout and showcasing local products.

    Mark & Tabitha, Bothy
  • What a perfect place to spend Valentine's weekend!  Romance, peace, quiet & pampering in abundance!  'Amazing' doesn't even cut it for this place...Evenings spent by the log fire, getting cosy in the cubby hole with the lights dimmed...letting the world drift away, soaking in that tub by candlelight; I defy anyone to come here for the weekend and not feel utterly at peace!  Every little details has been thought about and it's the little touches that make this place feel really luxurious!
