    G & T February 2015

  • The Bothy is quiet, cosy and quirky.

    T & C October 2015
  • Our third here at the Bothy (and 3 times in the Hayloft!); a wonderful few days of autumn sunshine. Walks on the Fens, the Wolds and along the beach. The garden here is a perfect sun trap, warm enough to enjoy breakfast each morning. I love the warmth and distinctive smell here - it will keep bringing us back to the perfect place for recovery.  Thank you, as always... PS The flowers were beautiful!

    C & B September 2015

On this one-day workshop you will learn everything you need to know about how to bake a lovely loaf of bread!

You will be taught the basics of bread making including mixing, kneading and proving and will be shown all the steps right through to the end when you can proudly admire your beautifully baked loaf! Along the way you will also learn how to use your creativity to produce both tasty and attractive loaves and rolls including white rolls and wholewheat baps, as well as your own pizzas for lunch! The day will finish with making some delicious plaited bread which you can eat with freshly made butter.  All your bread is for taking home to share with friends and family. Making bread can be a bit messy (but fun!) so please bring your apron!

Although this course is intended for beginners there is plenty of scope for those who already make their own bread to learn new tricks of the trade!

Tutor: Sherry has been teaching bread making at the Manor House Stables since she first started running courses in 2009.  Bread making soon proved (no pun intended!) to be her most popular course, not just because of the great bread that participants make, but also for the fun and lively day these courses inevitably turn out to be. Sherry has been baking bread since early days when her mother taught her all the basics, but over the past 10 years she has also attended many other bread making courses as well. She also runs ‘bespoke’ courses for between 3 and 8 people for birthdays, house-warming parties, team building and other events.  Contact her on sherry@manorhousestables.co.uk
