The Bothy is extremely cosy and comfortable and felt like home.L & D, November 2013
Dear Sherry & Irven, We had a lovely stay at the Bothy and our little boy loved the 'den' bed. The Bothy is extremely cosy and comfortable and felt like home. Was so lovely keeping warm with the log fire burning. Our first night meal was delicious and we would definitely recommend your accommodation to friends & family. Leena loved the crochet course and is determined to finish the cushion squares...
...a perfect spot to stay to forget about the outside world...E & T, November 2013
We had an amazing stay at the Manor House Stables in the superb Hayloft. We couldn't ask for anything as the Hayloft was so well equipped. Beautiful location and accommodation - a perfect spot to stay to forget about the outside world. All the more wonderful with Sherry and Irven's superb hospitality and helpfullness (even before we arrived. We will definitely be back for another visit
Our favourites were the homemade bread, the amazing bath, the snug, and the log burner.K & J, November 2013
Wow! We had such a lovely weekend. Our favourites were the homemade bread, the amazing bath, the snug, and the log burner. This place had everything we needed for the perfect weekend away. We really enjoyed our trip into Lincoln and the Kinema in the Woods. Irven and Sherry were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. We appreciated the extra touches like the flowers and the card. We definitely hope to be back again next year! bet wishes
...the ideal spot to 'escape' from town life!J & J, November 2013
Thank you so much once again for this our third visit, which as before has proved the ideal spot to 'escape' from town life! I'm pleased that you provide interesting reading material (Family History Mag!) together with the usual lovely hamper etc. Bed very comfortable. Thank you once again.
A very relaxing weekend spent cuddled in front of the woodburner, away from the wind & rain.E & M, November 2013
A very relaxing weekend spent cuddled in front of the woodburner, away from the wind & rain. We loved the welcome hamper & freshly baked bread, the bubbling bath and nook. A great little place in a fantastic location. Thanks to Sherry for an amazing couple of days!
We have had an amazing relaxed week in the Hayloft for our honeymoon.M & E, November 2013
We have had an amazing relaxed week in the Hayloft for our honeymoon. Greeted on arrival by Irven, a card and a bottle of Cava. The bath and woodburner were favourites of ours (especially the twinkle lights about the bath). We went to Lincoln - the cathedral and city are lovely... We enjoyed cooking ourselves in the evening in the Hayloft using all the lovely fresh produce from the hamper provided... Thank you.
Creature comforts and luxury fixture & fittings make such a difference.J, S & M, October 2013
Thank you so much for providing us with such a cosy, comfy Bothy. What more can we say that hasn't already been said. We hope to return next year before Julie leaves Lincoln University. Creature comforts and luxury fixture & fittings make such a difference. We cannot make any suggestions that would improve the accommodation you provide
Thanks so much for this lovely place.M & L, October 2013
Thanks so much for this lovely place. The Hayloft was wonderful - cosy, warm, but sadly did not need the woodburner, who would have thought it in October! We can only echo all the previous comments about the veggies and all the lovely extras provided - we had a great roasted veg & sausage meal on night two - very tasty. Shopped in Horncastle for antiques, Lincoln charming with good shops up the steep and little places to stop for lunch. Go to Coningsby and take the tour - really enjoyed that. Woodhall Spa is again charming with nice little shops and stops for coffee. Also visit the Petwood Hotel for high tea, very reasonable, lovely staff, well kept gardens, sat in the sunshine on the terrace - visit the Squadron bar, very atmospheric, loved it. Weather was kind, what more could we have asked for. Thank you again.
What a well-furnished, comfortable and cosy place, with so many luxurious touches too.P & J, October 2013
Dear Sherry and Irven
Our second wonderful visit to the Bothy. The moment we walked through the door we gave of sigh of pleasure as we knew what a relaxing time awaited us. We were greeted by flowers, wine, a hamper, a trug of vegetables, fruit and food in the fridge. What more could we ask for? What a well-furnished, comfortable and cosy place, with so many luxurious touches too. The Bothy is a special place to chill out, relax and recharge our batteries. Thank you for your hospitality and thoughtfulness. PS The meal was superb - restaurant quality, and enough for two nights!
We have had a marvellous experience and would recommend anyone to visit!!C & M, Florida USA, September & October 2013
We admire what you have accomplished with the rebuilding of the Manor House Stables. You have thought of everything from a fabulous welcome hamper, local vegetables to a well-stocked kitchen. We have had a marvellous experience and would recommend anyone to visit!! Thank you very much. And the bread was delicious!
All in all you have created the most perfect hideaway...H & J, October 2013
We have had such a wonderful few days in the Hayloft. I don't think I've ever done so much relaxing - lots of book reading in the snug in the wall and games of Scrabble with glasses of wine. We both love cooking and made 3 delicious meals using the home grown vegetables & meat from the butchers in Woodhall Spa. The welcome hamper is such a fantastic treat. All in all you have created the most perfect hideaway. The only disappointment was that it was a bit too warm to make full use of the woodburner. However the plus side was that we had some lovely walks in the sun. Thank you for a very lovely weekend.
Thanks for the memoriesP & C, September 2013
Back again! Naps in the Nook, walks where we get lost, but we don't car and Janet's Tea Room, Oh Janet! I have decided to try and put a bed in the wall back home. I'm sure the neighbours won't wind. Thanks for the memories.
I couldn't have asked for a more delightful place to stay....L, Connecticut, USA, September 2013
Sherry, thank you so much for making me feel so welcome and for all your help with my family tree research. I have thoroughly enjoyed my stay in the Bothy. I couldn't have asked for a more delightful place to stay. I would love to bring my family over with me next time I come. I hope it's not too long until we meet again. Until then, continued success with your business... Best wishes.
...when I walked through the door I felt so relaxed...L & S, September 2013
What can I say but when I walked through the door I felt so relaxed and was so overjoyed to be spending a few days here with my partner. It is such a special place and I'm sure we will visit again very soon. Many thanks.
This is a very special place...B, K, A & C, September 2013
Thank you so much for a wonderful weekend in the country. It's been a much needed get-away from our busy lives. The Hayloft has been a joy to stay in, much better than any hotel. We have taken full advantage of all the facilities and spent an inappropriate time in the bath! We have especially enjoyed eating all together around the tables, snuggling up in the cave bed & the bath, again. We look forward to coming back to Lincolnshire again sometime soon. This is a very special place and one we will tell all our friends & families about. Lots of Love and see you again soon.
Sadly it wasn't cold enough to light the stove!S & J, September 2013
Had a lovely peaceful week walking and exploring. Great hamper food! Went to the Kinema in the Woods. Sadly it wasn't cold enough to light the stove!
The Hayloft is absolutely beautiful...S & friends, September 2013
The Hayloft has been the perfect place to get away from the world - we're already showing our holiday off to jealous friends! We've enjoyed every detail from the delicious hamper (and particularly the raspberry wine!) to the fabulous bath and music collection. Thanks for the recommendations - we all enjoyed the viking way walk.
We look forward to visiting you again and once more enjoy your fabulous bath and board games by the fire. The Hayloft is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Lovely accommodation...M & A, September 2013
Lovely accommodation. We have had a great time here and even the weather was in our favour with sun all week until today when we are going home. The fresh fruit & veg were a lovely touch and much appreciated. Many thanks.
We would happily have spent the whole time in the bathroom alone...C & B, September 2013
What a find. We would happily have spent the whole time in the bathroom alone. Really interested in the photos and restoration accounts. Your loving hard work has definitely paid off. Looking forward to returning - although we have checked out the advance bookings, it will be a tight squeeze - so popular! thank you.
The Hayloft is beautiful, we stayed in most of the time & relaxed...M & J, August 2013
Our stay has been wonderful, loved the added extras - felt truly spoilt. The Hayloft is beautiful, we stayed in most of the time & relaxed. The bath is amazing & we loved the snug. Every detail has been thought of. We loved Lincoln - 30 minute bus ride away, it was stunning. We walked to the Penny Farthing for a few drinks - its a gorgeous pub & it's a shame we weren't hungry as the food looked amazing. Thank you so much for making our holiday perfect. Oh and we loved the 'Kinema in the Woods'.
The welcome hamper was superb.A, A & A, August 2013
Lovely cottage, very warm and comfortable. The welcome hamper was superb. Enjoyed seeing the pheasant roosting in the pear tree (crash landing usually) and listening to the owl at night. Wonderful sunny weather so enjoyed walking and bike riding on the Water Rail way (Barry at Bardney Cycle hire a great character), Lincoln Cathedral, Tattershall Castle and a fabulous pie at Brown's Pie Shop (not to be missed). Woodhall Spa deli a great place for picnic food, bread, cakes, etc. Kinema in the woods was a unique experience. You've done a great job here, all the best for the future. PS loved the cooker, we foraged apples and blackberries on our walks and had a wonderful crumble.
Lincolnshire is lovely - good food, friendly people and big skies.A, M & R, August 2013
We've had a lovely stay in this special place. As everyone before us has said Sherry & Irven have tried to think of everything - and have done a pretty good job of providing it! Lincolnshire is lovely - good food, friendly people and big skies. Thanks for the tips re where to go. Gibralter Point was lovely. We have been blessed with great weather too. Think we will be back.... THANK YOU.
Poem by Rosie PotterR & D, August 2013
Sherry and Irven, we loved the Bothy
With the great hamper and jam, tea and coffee
Thanks for the little homely touches and tasty treats
Danielle loved the bath with its little seats
I loved the comfy sofa, the homemade bread and honey
And the lovely garden where we sat when sunny
So thank you so much, we've enjoyed our stay
And loved every minute of every day.
lovely to have a nice garden to relax in...M & R, August 2013
Outstanding accommodation. The Bothy has everything you need for enjoying a week or two away from home - lovely to have a nice garden to relax in as well. Thank you for your hospitality, especially the "Welcoming Trug", which was very much appreciated.
such a cosy, pleasant hideaway...R, N (Hong Kong), S & G, August 2013
We have all (me, my husband, my mum and sister-in-law) thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Hayloft - such a cosy, pleasant hideaway. This is our first visit to Lincolnshire, and it has been delightful. We will certainly recommend this as a holiday package. Thank you Sherry.
The Stables are picture perfect...Z & P, July 2013
This is the perfect location for our tour of the historical aviation sites in Lincolnshire. The Stables are picture perfect, extremely comfortable, have all the home comforts and the most welcoming and friendly hostess in Sherry. Thank you for a lovely stay.
Thank you for a fabulous break. We can't wait to escape here in the winter!K, P, S & O, July 2013
We have loved our family visit to this gorgeous bolt-hole which has been so homely and inviting. There's been plenty to do on the doorstep - Woodhall Spa is perfect for pottering and Tattershall Castle well worth a visit.
Sherry has been a fantastic hostess and we all thoroughtly enjoyed our breadmaking/pizza making course. The teenagers loved the novelty of making their own pizzas for supper!
Thank you for a fabulous break. We can't wait to escape here in the winter!
...welcome basket of goodies and first night meal a real treatJ & P, July 2013
Booked as a romantic treat for my husband's birthday. Didn't fail to meet expectations. Loved the copper bath and just making time to relax. Lovely home from home. Found the welcome basket of goodies and first night meal a real treat. Loved the little treats in the bathrooms and spent one night with face packs sitting in the bubbles enjoying life.
Must come back in the winter, hole up with games, the log burner...S & R, July 2013
Excellent place to stay to plan doing nothing. Not long enough to relax! Sarah particularly loved 'Barry' on the 'Gramophone'. Must come back in the winter, hole up with games, the log burner and 'Barry'. Thanks to Sherry & Irven for making us feel as if we were staying in someone's home - only one problem...3 nights isn't long enough. Thanks. PS Can recommend the Kinema - try and got there on a night with an interval! Usually a Saturday eve.
Enjoyed every minute here.E & D, July 2013
Fantastic accommodation in a lovely setting. Enjoyed every minute here.
A haven of peace and tranquilityJ from Germany, June 2013
My third stay at the Manor House Stables. A haven of peace and tranquility. The hamper, wine, flowers, chocolate and bath treats are very much appreciated. I have become a customer of Pure Thoughts myself. Spent a day in the garden in the lovely sunshine and used the kitchen utensils to cook a lovely meal. I don't want to go home! You have an amazing job here. Many thanks and best wishes.
...we honestly couldn't have asked for a more wonderful haven for our first few days of married lifeMr & Mrs A, June 2013
We can't begin to say how wonderful our stay here has been; the perfect end to our wedding weekend - honestly it was the lining on the cake.
Not only are the properties beautifully decorated and clean, but all the little details have kept surprising us. The welcome basket of goodies was a glorious treat - especially seeing as the chocs are gluten free - I ate all the ones upstairs, but the veg from the garden & bread & fridge full of goodies was all so wonderful.
With our family staying upstairs, a weekend of seeing friends & family & tying the knot, we honestly couldn't have asked for a more wonderful haven for our first few days of married life.
We'll be seeing you again
Much love, the Newlyweds, Mr & Mrs A
Could not have asked for a more perfect retreat!R & J, June 2013
What can I say to put into words just how amazing our time was here! We arrived Friday night to a haven surrounded by peace and quiet. Could not have asked for a more perfect retreat! Then after a perfect day Saturday milling around the local village and then to come home to an amazing log fire and meal cooked by my other half. As if this wasn't enough, tonight was the night I became engaged!! Not only to the love of my life but my best friend. Everything has been utterly perfect and I will never forget the happiness we both felt this weekend. All the best and lots of love from the soon to be Mr & Mrs T!!!
We have not wanted for anything!C & R, June 2013
Our time at the Hayloft has been wonderful from start to finish. We have not wanted for anything! The hamper, vegetables etc are just fabulous - Sherry has thought of everything. Thank you!! It's been a lovely part of the country to visit - made even better by having our base here. This hopefully won't be the last time.
Another wonderful stay - we will no doubt return!A, B, B & S

... an absolute feast for the eyes - like straight out a a magazineA & S, May 2013
This is the most wonderful place we have ever stayed in. You have gone to so much effort to make the Hayloft a warm and cosy retreat. Everything has been thought of; the kitchen is particularly well-equipped. The furniture and decor are beautiful - so much attention to detail - and you have inspired us regarding what kind of house we hope to have one day. We hve felt so relaxed here! And it has been an absolute feast for the eyes - like straight out a a magazine. It has been the perfect way to celebrate submitting our PhDs and we hope to be back one day! P.S. Thanks for showing us how wonderful gramophones are! Definitely want one at home now.

The Hayloft is an excellent base for a quiet "minimoon", with the big copper bath and the cosy wood burner particularly great features.G & S, April 2013
A lovely place to relax...a very welcome short break after all the rushing around to organise our wedding. The Hayloft is an excellent base for a quiet "minimoon", with the big copper bath and the cosy wood burner particularly great features. The hamper of food was fantastic; although I would definitely recommend the food at the Penny Farthing Inn, Timberland, the best meals we had were those we managed to rustle up ourselves from the lovely fresh ingredients we were provided with on our arrival. Bothy Sherry and Irven were very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend this place.
...coming back to a warm and comfortable 'Hayloft' to relax in the eveningsA & B, April 2013

The Hayloft is always cosy and inviting, and those special touches always appreciatedL & L, April 2013
This was our fourth visit overall to the Manor House Stables, our second here in the Hayloft. As always there was a warm and friendly welcome.
The Hayloft is always cosy and inviting, and those special touches always appreciated. As ever, Sherry and Irven stay true to the eco-friendly theme, it is very refreshing once you have stayed here, you will never tire of it and you will be back! Found a new favourite place for tea/coffee, Archie's at Woodhall Spa. They are friendly and serve an excellent flat white!
Many thanks again Sherry and Irven for allowing us to share this beautiful place once again.

Will miss the lovely evenings by the fire and the amazing bathroom!! Will definitely recommend this amazing property!

The extremely generous welcome pack & essentials were also very appreciated. It is these extra special touches including the fresh flowers & wine that make this cottage stand out from the rest! The 'winter warmer' offer was also very good value for money. We shall certainly recommend the Hayloft to our daughters as a possible honeymoon destination! Many thanks again Sherry& Irven.

The cottage has been lovely and warm, and felt so comfy we didn't want to go outC & H, January 2013
Thank you again for our stay in the Bothy. We have had a really relaxing time. The meal was great, especially as we would have had trouble going out because of the snow. The cottage has been lovely and warm, and felt so comfy we didn't want to go out. We did however have a lovely walk in the snow...
As soon as we arrived we felt welcome and at home...R & A, January 2013
As soon as we arrived we felt welcome and at home. The hamper is truly wonderful, along with the fresh veg and beautiful flowers. The Hayloft itself is incredible and so lovely to be able to see how it was transformed. It is pure luxury and a perfect retreat for a relaxing break. The soaps and products all smell wonderful and the bath and shower are next level. All of this is before actually exploring Woodhall Spa and surrounding areas!!
The fact that there are guide books, mags and even an informative DVD on Woodhall Spa made seeing the sights a breeze. Also Sherry gave us a top tip about a walk along the river, which was fantastic, and we had sunshine! Thank you!
Favourite place outside the Hayloft was definitely Janet's Tearooms and the Kinema! Thank you so much and we hope to return again.
...beautiful little BothyR & A, December 2012
We have had a really lovely week in what is (for us) an unusual area, far from home! It has, of course, been helped immeasurably by this beautiful little Bothy. It is the best equipped and cosiest 'cottage' we've every stayed in. We visited Tattershall Castle which was very atmospheric. A tour of Lincoln cathedral was absolutely stunning, well worth the admission fee. Finally, the Kinema in the woods at Woodhall Spa - we loved it!
