'Celebrate the rich and varied local heritage of Lincolnshire during Heritage Open Days 2010. Over 85 special openings and events have been arranged across the county and all are free of charge. This year's theme is "Lincolnshire at War - Through the Ages" which includes events such as tours of disused airfields and bunkers, guided walks looking at coastal defences, exhibitions of war time memorabilia and themed workshops. So come along and explore Lincolnshire's military heritage ranging from the Roman Occupation to the two World Wars'

October 1st is Lincolnshire Day Come to Lincolnshire in October as it marks the official celebration of Lincolnshire Day. Lincolnshire Day celebrates everything great about the county - from the mighty Lincolnshire sausage to our grand historic links, coast, local heroes, nature and aviation heritage. There are special events throughout the county, not just on the 1st of October.
