Learn to crochet today and make a poppy to show you care.
The morning’s course is for beginners or for those with some experience of crocheting. In the afternoon you can learn to felt a red poppy and make it into a brooch if you wish. You can join the morning or the afternoon course or stay for the whole day.
In the morning you will learn all the crochet techniques required to make a beautiful poppy which you will be proud to wear on the 1st July to commemorate the sad loss of life on the 1st July 1916.
Your beech or bamboo crochet hook, a variety of different red wools, black buttons and patterns will all be yours to take home so you can continue to make poppies at home.
In the afternoon you will learn how to turn beautiful soft merino wool into a very realistic felted poppy which you can turn into a brooch if desired.
Both morning and afternoon sessions are run as part of the commemorations being held around Europe, from France to Lincoln itself to honour all those who gave their lives on the sad day of the 1st July 2016
You will also have the opportunity to share in enjoying Trench Cake during the day made from an original First World War recipe. Recipes available on request. Our little Great War Museum will also be open for you to look around during your breaks.
£75 for the whole day including lunch with wine and refreshments or £40 for the morning or afternoon session which also includes lunch with wine plus refreshments.
