Another one of our specially-created Harvest Festival-themed courses celebrating British Food Fortnight – the largest annual national celebration of British food and drink held in the autumn at the same time as harvest festivals. These courses aim to help strengthen the tradition of celebrating the harvest by encouraging the use of home-grown produce to make delicious and nutritious meals.
Autumn is also a lovely time in the vegetable garden. There is still so much abundance and there are endless ways of making the most of the harvest. Every year is different, but in October you should be harvesting your beetroot, squashes, carrots, potatoes and probably much more besides! Fruits which are in season at this time of year include apples, quince, damsons and elderberries
Today’s course will vary according to what is in season, but you should expect to make and take away at least 5 delicious items which you have made or baked yourself. You will also be involved in collecting and preparing garden produce for your lunch. More details to follow soon.
